Creating Integrated Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities

Tuesday, December 13 at 2:00 pm ET

Join us for a presentation about employment opportunities for people with disabilities, with Kevin Crosley, President/CEO of Arc Herkimer. The presentation will explore how Arc Herkimer has created diverse employment opportunities for the people with disabilities they support through the acquisition of multiple facilities in the community (many of which were donated) and the operation of a variety of different business enterprises. Strategic development of the facilities not only provides great work options for people, but acts as a truly integrated business setting, as many of the local organizations have joined Arc Herkimer as tenants in their buildings. Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the importance of networking in your community for the benefit of people with disabilities your chapter supports.

  2. How the development of facilities in your region can lead to truly integrated business settings for people with and without disabilities.

  3. Realize how social enterprises play a significant role in the diversity of revenue streams and employment opportunities.
