COVID-19 and IDEA: Guidance for Students with IEPs from the Department of Education

The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Service has recently come out with a new guidance, "Return to School Roadmap: Development and Implementation of Individualized Education Programs in the Least Restrictive Environment under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act," which notes the priorities of equity, flexibility, creativity, and engagement with families during this school year.

The guidance also reaffirms that families should contact their local parent training and information centers (PTIs), for which the PEAL Center serves as Pennsylvania's, for additional support in understanding IDEA.

PEAL will be sharing more information about this guidance and other important and timely information on our Facebook page.
